Parkes Medical Centre Joins the Ochre Health Family

Ochre Health acquired the well-established Clarinda Street Medical Centre in Parkes, NSW in November 2014. The Centre has operated medical services in the town for the last 50 years, with previous owners Dr Morris, Dr Harwood and Dr Gale continuing to provide their GP services to the practice and procedural cover (Obstetrics & Anesthetics) to Parkes District Hospital.

Parkes is a flourishing inland town and home to world famous Parkes radio telescope “The Dish”. The town of Parkes its self has experienced significant growth in recent years, with economic strengths in mineral resources, agriculture, retail activity, government services, tourism and continuing expansion through the mining and transport sectors.

Parkes is an ideal location to raise a family and escape the hustle and bustle of city life, offering quality education, investment and career opportunities while still maintaining a rural lifestyle.

Parkes Medical Centre services the local population of 12,219 and a further 4,200 residents in surrounding areas (ABS 2006), offering a range of Primary Health Services including:

Chronic Disease management
Skin clinics
Minor surgery
Work cover injury management
Aged care services

The Medical Centre currently operates with 5 GPs and 5 GP Registrars who also provide hospital cover for Obstetrics, Anesthetics, Surgery and Emergency. Consulting rooms are available also for visiting specialists and Allied Health Providers.
