Overview
Ochre Health took over the running of the Eumundi Family Medical Practice on Monday 6th January 2014. Work began to relocate the practice to larger facilities directly behind the current practice, which was planned for completion by May 2014.

Ochre Health Medical Centre Eumundi is the 4th and final site in the new Sunshine Coast GP Super Clinic network which includes the main site in Sippy Downs which opened in March 2014 and existing sites in Maleny and Montville.

The new practice opened its doors on Monday 28th April 2014 with three GPs and has the capacity to grow to five GPs over time.

Ochre Health Medical Centre Eumundi has been established with financial assistance from the Australian Federal Government under the Super Clinics program.

Hours of operation
Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Weekends and Public Holidays: The Ochre Health Medical Centre Sunshine Coast in Sippy Downs is open from 9:00am – 4:30pm on a walk-in basis.

After Hours
Out of hours medical deputising service Family Care Medical Services.

Dr David Heppell (MBChB, MRCGP, FRACGP) – Medical Coordinator/General Practitioner
Originally from the north of England, Dr Heppell has lived and worked on the Sunshine Coast for 4 1/2 years. After graduating from the University of Medicine in Leeds, he spent 5 years in hospital specialities before commencing General Practice. David gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2001 and worked in Yorkshire for almost 10 years before emigrating to Australia.
Specialty interest Areas: Mens Health, Mental Health Issues, Skin Cancer removals.

Dr Karen Macmillan (MBChB, MRCGP, FRACGP, DRCOG, DFSRH) – General Practitioner
Dr Karen Macmillan originates from Scotland. She graduated from the University of Aberdeen School of Medicine in 2000 and then moved to the South of England where she completed her training in General Practice. Karen moved to Australia in January of this year with her partner and young son. They are fortunate to have family in the local area.
Specialty interest Areas: Womens’ Health, Skin cancer and Preventative Medicine.

Dr Patti Slegers – General Practitioner
Dr Slegers has been working at the existing practice since 2012 and we are pleased to retain her services at the practice. She is currently working towards gaining fellowship of the RACGP.

Dr Michael Harrison (MRCGP, FRACGP) – General Pracitioner
Dr Harrison trained in the UK. After medical school he worked in Emergency Medicine and various surgical specialities before electing to train as a GP. After GP training he worked as a partner in a large practice in the North of England as well as working for a local Rugby Union and Football clubs. Further postgraduate training in dermatology was also successfully completed. He has had a close affiliation with Australia since childhood and has been here permanently since 2010, working previously on the Central Coast of NSW.
Specialist interest Areas: dermatology

Dr Hoda Morris – General Practitioner
Dr Morris is originally from England, she has been working on the Sunshine Coast since 2010.She is a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK and the Royal Australian College of GP’s.
Specialty interest Areas: women’s health including IUD, mirena and implanons, children health, mental health issues and skin cancer checks.

Overview
Eumundi is a small town with 1,700 residents in the Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland, Australia, 21 km south-west of Noosa Heads and 118 km north of the state capital, Brisbane. It is located just off the Bruce Highway. Nearby towns are Yandina and Cooroy.

Eumundi is very popular on the coast for its bi-weekly farmer’s markets. The marketplace is full of locally-made produce, which has made Eumundi and the surrounding area a haven for small businesses.
